Great Weekend

As most of you know. Although, Im not really sure who all is reading my blog since it has been for lack of better words.. "BLAH" so far. I promise I will get better. Anyway, most of you know that I gave Terrance tickets to go see the Chicago cubs play at Wrigley Field this past weekend! We were blessed with the company of Terrill, Steph, Matt, and Leslie! We all rode in the same truck, (Thank you Brent), and shared what we THOUGHT was going to be an awesome suite. however, upon arriving, we learned that the suite, which we thought had 1 king, 1 queen bed, and a sleeper sofa, turned out to be 1 king, and 1 queen sleeper sofa. so 2 beds, and 6 people. Interesting, but luckily Terrill had brought his air mattress, and it all worked out. Friday night we all watched t.v., then inevitably crashed from 6 hours of driving after an 8 hour work day for most. Saturday, GAME DAY, was great! The morning started off cool, and cloudy. Windy of course, since it's not named "The Windy City" for nothing. We went to the Mall to kill some time before our 3:00 game. Then we drove downtown. Thought we picked a place to park that was relitivaly close to the field. There was no way we were going to park in the heart of downtown, there isnt a single bumper in Chicago that isnt busted, scuffed, or duct taped on. And since we were driving our Pop's brand new truck, we weren't taking any chances. As we start walking, we realize that we may be going just a little out of the way and stop at a gas station for directions, who tells us to walk, OH, maybe 5-6 blocks up, then (in his words) "A LONG way to the right". So we did. Then stopping at another intersection after about 30-45 minuets of walking, maybe 2 miles later we stop and look at a local map. Which tells us, to walk about another 4 blocks up, then a few to the right. Somehow, we turned left instead of right and walked 2 blocks in the wrong direction, so making a quick turn-a-round,we hustle(in my case a fast waddle) in the other direction. Then all of a sudden, there it is! Wrigley Field! You could almost hear the excitement coming out of Terrance. Somehow after about 3 or 4 miles of walking or waddling in very uncomfortable flip-flops seemed worth it just to see his emotion and reaction. The game was great, Cubs won 9 to 3 aganst the Houston Astros. We sat in the bleachers which has absolutley NO shade what so ever, and absolutley NO leg room. We were all shoulder to shoulder, surrounded by spilling beer, and obnoxious fans who, for some reason thought that the players could hear what they were yelling. None of that phased me, Iwas just enjoying the game, and the look on Terrance's face as he watched the action.
So a few spilled beers on my foot, hurting back side, sun burned cheeks, and 3 hours later, the game was over. and it was time for another LONG waddlle back to the truck. To make a already ridiculously long story shorter, we thought we passed the street twice, when finally a nice, some-what normal woman on her bike offerd to help us. She rode all around the area reporting back to us. Then finally, Maybe noticing the Fat prego just sitting on the nasty sidewalk, told us to not move, stay here, and she would check one more time. She found it, and we were very grateful for her little peddler legs. That truck never seemd so comfortable. Until it was time to get back in it the next morning for a 6 hour drive home.
