YEP!! Crysta and I made Terrance some chocolate chip cookies from scratch last night. He had a sweet tooth, I had some chocolate chips calling my name from the cubbord, and Crysta needed to burn some energy. Plus we needed to redeem ourselves from the last batch we made.(which burnt). Well since Crysta was helping me, I thought I would go ahead and set all the ingredients out, its easier that way anyway, and then she could just dump them in as needed. Right off the bat, I start to blend the butter, sugars, and crisco, and after about 2 spins from my CHEAP hand held mixer, its broke!! Yep ruined. Cheap mixer. So, it was time to test my muscles. So I brought out the wooden spoon, and started to stir.. Long story short, it took about 30 minuets to mix all indredients, my arms are sore, and I need a new mixer!
Crysta stired in the chocolate chips, then we proceeded to have a flour fight. I usually try to keep the mess under wraps, and orderly, but then I thought last night. "She is never going to want to help me anymore, b/c Im no fun". So we had a little flour fight, and a few laughs! It was actually fun, but the look of the kitchen after ward...... GULP.

The cookies turned out really well, except I forgot to cover the last batch, and they are rock hard this morning. Oh well. But Crysta enjoyed 2 cookies last night with a cup of milk!!

After cookies, Crysta got her bath, and I tried a new hair conditioning treatment. As far as I can tell, nothing, other than I woke up this morning, and I apparantly didn't get all the 'recipie' out of my hair!! GROSS, so I need another shower!
Carter's cough is getting better I guess. He slept better last night, but still sounds like a smoker. Poor kid! Hope to get that figured out soon!

A few updates

So, our internet has been down for a little over a week now, but its working right now. But we keep getting emails saying that we will still have problems. I think its a virus, but what can you do? Just a few udates on a few things.
Carter is doing much better with his cereal. He likes it now. I intruduced him to a mashed banana yesterday, and he REALLy enjoyed that! We got our video camera fixed finally, so we have been taking loads of video. Carter is so animated right now, its fun to see is personality show. And its fun being able to play with our camera again. Crysta really enjoys playing when she knows the camera is on her. I went back looking through old tapes, to see what was on them, so I could organize them. We started with Crystas 2nd birthday. It was so fun to look back at her when she was that little. Even though it was only 2 years ago, she seems so grown up from that footage. Its always fun to look back and reminice. I can really get caught up in the past sometimes.
I know I havent blogged about my face updates in a while. Last I updated, I had just started Proactiv. Well, I did Proactiv for a little over a month, and there was hardly any change at all. All I noticed was my skin wasn't red or as dry. So I set up a concultation with a dermatologist. Baisically, I can't have anything done, or use any perscriptions until I am done nursing. I was hoping to have my face taken care of before the weddings this summer, but its ok. It bothers me more than it bothers anyone else. They told me about a gentle cleanser to use, and some astringent. So thats what I have been using. So I think I am done with the picture updates anyway.
My cousin Sjana had her baby boy on saturday Jan 19th. Samuel Dean was born 7lbs 14 oz. I don't know much more than that, but Im very excited for her. I will see if I can get a picture to post.
I was able to keep my new niece Whitney last thursday. I took lots of pictures, and thats what I will leave you with. I really enjoyed my time with her. So sweet!

Home Alone

So, Terrance is in Indianapolis for the night, and Im sitting here thinking,"What can I do to keep my mind off of being alone?". And blogging is all I can think of. HAHA. I do have something to report though, I tried giving Carter some cereal yesterday at lunch, and unfortunatly I didn't have a camera to catch the hilarious faces he was making. It was so funny. So I thought I would give him some more for breakfast, only this time I used milk instead of water, he took it better, but still made some funny faces. (Not as funny as yesterday, but still cute). He got used to it twards the end, then he slept for 4-5 hours straight! WOW!! I tried it again tonight for supper, so we will see how tonight goes. For the past few nights, he has been sleeping all the way through, so I can't complain either way.
Here are Carters silly food pictures!:

Just Some Pictures

I gave Carter a bath the other night and discoverd that he has just enough hair for an "Alphalpha". too cute!!

Today with all the rain, I took Crysta outside,so she could stomp in the puddles. She sang "Singin' in the Rain" the whole time. She had a blast. thanks to Brandie who gave her her new rain boots for Christmas!!

Carter is finally enjoying his tummy time!

Crysta and Carter in their Sunday best. My Dad sent them these outfits for Christmas. Not a bad lookin' pair if I do say so myself.

I caught Crysta watchin t.v sittin in Carters bumbo. I think she likes it more than he does. Whats sad is my 4 year old can fit in a bumbo!!!

Here is Terrance trying to make me feel fat by sqeezing int my coat!! I think it looks better on him, personally.

I LOVE books

So Terrance got me Nicholas Sparks' new book "The Choice". I have heard that it was really good, and was super excited to read it. So I started it about 3 days ago, and every night I would get in about 2 or 3 chapters, and I would try to read it every feeding too. I finally finished it this morning. I could have last night, but I really wanted to wait, let the anticipation build.. Anyway, I finished it, and it is BY FAR the best story so far. I mean "The Notebook" was number one, and is still very close, but this story was laid out so diffrently, and was pretty diffrent than all the others. Nicholas Sparks writes almost the same way in all of his books. Once the main Guy and Gal are introduced, all you have to do is wait for their love story to play out. I still however have yet to read, "3 Weeks With My Bother", "The Guardian" ( Which I am still trying to finish, and " Dear John". I own all but 3 weeks, and Dear John. So its very possible that one of the 3 might take the number one spot, guess we will see.
I highly reccomend this book to anyone who appreciates a great love story. I don't know why, everytime after I finish one of his books, I find myself trying to add up to his characters. He portrays them all as such, kind and passionate people. And I am just swept up as their love stories are laid out. I know most of the time, people don't find love like his books, and a lot of the time, their relationships aren't half as romantic. I guess thats why I can never put his book down. It is so nice to wrap my mind in a world outside of this one. A break from the hustle and bustle of my everyday life. My children are wonderful, but every parent will agree when I say, atleast 1 hour out of the day alone is almost impossible, so its one of the best things, when you can put your kiddos to bed early and spend that little time doing something that relaxes you and just helps you unwind.
Books and scrapbooking are my favorite "ME" time. Since I don't have enough space to scrapbook, I try to read a little everyday. Anyway, I hope you all find time to loose yoruself everyday. Just escape from your normal routine, and retreat into another place.

On a diffrent note, Carter is recovering well from his ruptured ear drum. It doesn't seem to bother him, he only has 2 days left on his medicine, so I hope that should take care of everything. He also is proving to have a real temper. He has learned a new octive when he jabbers, and I think he knows it gets even louder when he cries. It cuts through your skull. Im not sure yet if its a temper problem, more than a learning experience. But I hope to nip it in the rear before it for sure turns into a temper. But he sure melts my heart, when he looks up at me with those big blue eyes, chubby cheeks, wet chin and smiles really big. Then when he starts cooing at me... that really does me in..
Crysta is sure pushin my buttons lately. Talking back, getting her little girly attitude, and she seems to always argue before giving into what I have asked her to do. Im not a big spanker, but I do it when its needed. I guess I better start with the spankins now, before this gets out of control. She seems to be able to read people to see if they are really going to do what they say they are. And so far I follow through, but I think she is really testing me these past few weeks. I don't think its competition with Carter, I think she is becoming a little girl, and thats what we all did, and still do. She is a wonderfully behaved little girl, and I am very blessed to have her, but I just am not strong in this area. I will learn though, I don't think any parent has it all really figured out.
Im struggling a little bit with myself. I sometimes find myself in some form of vanity, as I stand infront of myself in the mirror, and I nit pick. Im still struggling with my face. Proactive has helped a little, but I guess with dark circles under my eyes, and acne, I am feeling particularly un attractive. I know I shouldn't care about my appearance, but you know when people make some comments about other people, you can't help but wonder if other people say they same thing about you as you walk by. I try to focus my thoughts and energy in other areas, but sometimes I fail. I know I just have to keep my heart on the Lord, and not on myself.
I am also really excited that we FINALLY got in with our photographer to take Valentines Day pictures. On friday I will be taking the kiddos over to get thier pictures taken. I can't wait, with Carter smiling now, they should be good ones.. Anyway, those are my thoughts for the night.

Catching up with the Holidays!

Wow, Reading everyone elses blogs, it appears that we had a very calm and less eventful Christmas week. Thankfully, we all only have one family to celebrate with, since the other halfs are in other states. Only every other Christmas though, do we all get to celebrate together. Actually Terrance and I have been in MO for every Christmas since we have been married. We are talking though, about spending it with my Colorado family next year! 5 years since my last Christmas in snow. This year they truly had a white Christmas, and Im totally Jealous. But I hope it works out, and I am really looking forward to it.
As for our timeline, we just had a really great week all the way around. Christmas day started for us around 8am, and ended around midnght! It was a great time, although our gift opening time had to be broken into small intermissions due to 2 babies who had to be fed! It was great having Carter and Whitney there! Next year will be really fun for us, and for Crysta. I know she is looking forward to having other kiddos to play with. She gets a little restless in the middle.
Crysta got her first real bike. I wanted to get one for her, but decided to wait until her birthday, but the grandparents beat us to it. Which is fine, she really liked it though. So now, we have something to work on, and an excuse to get out.
Here is a slide show of the weekend!

Our New year was good too. We went to dinner with the family, then just hung out at our place with a few friends. Actually, none of them stayed to watch the ball drop. We saw it drop at 11 for NY, but after that they left! haha. Terrance and I were in bed before midnight too. We are some fun people! haha. We spent New Years Day in our PJs. We changed around 3:00 to got to Cold Stone, then again aroun 6pm to get some dinner. I think Carter is getting a cold, and Im starting to feel a small titch of something. What a way to start out the new year. So thats my resolution... DONT GET SICK... Do any of you make resolutions?? I try not to, but I cant say I dont mentally tell myself that this year "I will do.......". However, this year is a little diffrent. I have 2 weddings that I am in in June, so that is motivation to watch what I eat, and try to get out and exercise as much as possible. If Im going to buy 2 bridemaids dresses, Im going to look good in them! haha. But weightloss wasn't the only " I will.." for this year. We shall see. I am very excited for this year. Crysta will be enrolling for preschool, Carter will be turning 1, I have a new niece to spoil, I am inheriting another sister, and 2 of my best friends are getting married. ( congrats to Amanda again!) so I guess thats 3 weddings. My really good friend Amanda from Colorado (the only person from high school I still talk to), called me to tell me that her boyfriend Daniel asked her to marry him at the Avalanche game!! Im so happy for her. She also asked me to be in her wedding. What an honor it is, for someone to ask you to share their big day with them! Im totally excited for all my friends. Brandie, Ann(sis), and Amanda! I love you girls!!
2008 seems to be stocking up to be a big year! I can't wait to see how it all plays out!
