Catching up......

I have fallen behind on my blogging, so I will do a quick recap for those interested... We went camping at Mark Twain for Easter. It was fun, and a little cold, but it just made the campfire that much nicer. There is just something about a campfire, that makes the whole trip.. Crysta LOVES to camp, which I am thankful for, since she was born into a very campy family! Carter and Whitney seemed to do well too.. I think Carter is ready to crawl, so he's not so constricted, but lets not rush things. I really enjoyed the time with friends and family. And any time away from my chores at home, is welcome..
Next update Carter had his 6 month check up yesterday. 6 months already.. His weight has decreased dramatically. Not unhealthy though. He was in the 97th percentile for weight at his 3 month check up, this time around he is in the 50th percentile. He weighs 17.8lbs, and is almost 25 inches long. He is developing great, and a little ahead of schedule. He is healthy, happy, and VERY mobile. I don't think I have that much longer before he starts crawling.
Brent and Resa finally bought the big HDTV!, which means that we are the lucky ones to get their old T.V. Unfortunatly it doesn't fit in the spot where our old T.V. was. So thursday I devoted to moving the furniture around. It was fun to have a reason to change the look of things. We have had our furniture the same way for 4 years, so it was a little refreshing to have it switched around. I will have to get a concesus from friends if they like the new layout! But hey, atleast we gota new T.V!! Thanks Mom and Pop!
Another change up, I cut my hair wednsday. I am trying to grow it out for the weddings in June, so I didnt want to loose length, but I needed a change. So I just got layers, and bangs!! I got a lot of comments from people at church that night. I didnt think it was that diffrent, but I guess its more noticable than I thought. Im getting used to the bangs, but all in all I like it!
I will end with a few pictures!!

My Story

Well As you all know, I am a recovering coffee adict! I have been some-what sober now for 4 or 5 months. Give the occasional stop at Dunn Bros, or make me a cup while I scanned at data comm. I am proud of my self, my CA group (Coffeholics Anonymous) says that I am an inspiration to them. I try to hold myself to high standards, so I don't fall down into the deep oh-so-sweet pit of coffee bingeing. However, as I was walking down Wal-marts cheery isles, I needed peanut butter. Well ironically the peanut butter is right accross from the coffee, and then I don't know what happend, its like I blacked out. It must have been the smell, because the next thing I know I am grabbing a BIG can of Folgers, and putting it in my cart. It was like my concious was seperated from my body, and I couldn't controll it! NO!!! my mind screamed as I outwardly watched my hand put the coffee... The wonderful, bold, dark, strong coffee in my cart. There was nothing I could do. So instead of fighting myself by trying to put it back, I just went about the rest of my shopping. By the time I was finished I had forgoten about the coffee, and found it in one of my bags when I got home.
"Now What?" I asked myself. "Well, since I can't drive all the way back to walmart, just to return it, I guess I better keep it." So thats what I did. Then the real tradgedy happened about 10 minuets ago.. I saw it there, just sitting on my counter. hugging the coffee pot, and starring at me, as if to say, "Please put me in there, its where I belong." Well you can guess what happend next......
Am I ashamed? Have I fallen off the wagon? If I have, it is so great, because the smell of coffee brewing in my home again, is unexplainable! It smells so good!! So now I leave you with my story, while I go enjoy a nice, hot cup of caffine in heaven!

Five for Friday(and More)

The week is finally over, and I have to say that this was a hard week for me. Not only with work, but with multiple things. I have never been more thankful to say T.G.I.F.. Except, today I am feeling VERY under the weather, and I have so much to get done today. Maybe I'll feel better later on in the day. But here is my 5!

1. Sleep: Not for me, but for Carter. I think he read my previous blog, because I layed him down at 6:30 last night, and he slept until 12 to eat, then again at 3:30. He was VERY tired. He was able to play with his cousin Whit yesterday and I guess all that estrogen just wore him out!!
2.3 am talks: With me not feeling good, Carter being hungry, and Akira pooping all over my kitchen floor, I was pretty awake at 3am. So was Carter for a little while, so I was able to sit and rock him, and just listen to him coo in my ear! I love the sound of his voice, and it definatly took my mind off the mess that I just had to clean up in my kitchen!
3. Fridays. Its the end of the week, but its also a day to reflect on the days before, and come up with thankful thoughts, instead on dwelling on the "poopy" stuff. (No pun intended)
4. Pledge: I dusted our home yesterday! It was long overdue, but I love how pledge just make the job easier, and it makes everything so shinny, and makes the air smell good!
5. Coupons and discounts: I have a 50% off coupon for Chadwicks, and Im using it to get 2 new dresses for the summer. my total for both is the cost of what one would be alone! I can;t pass up a bargin, and a chance to get new clothes, which I need badly!

Theres my 5! hope everyone has a great week!

Whats Sleep?

Well I think I was spoiled the first 5 months of Carter's life. He has always been a wonderful sleeper, a total opposite from his sister. I thought I was in the clear, beacuse usually around 6 months, is when most babies sleep through regardless.. Not for me... for the past week, I have been up almost every hour and a half to 2 hours, with a SCREAMING baby.. Not crying, or fussy, but litterally screaming..he wouldn't eat, and he wouldnt eventually cry himself to sleep. Thusly I was at a loss. I would whip up a 4oz bottle of formula and pray he would eat it.. Sometimes he would and fall asleep for a little while. An already long story short, I think my baby boy is starting to teeth. I am going to miss that toothless smile, but Im ready for the process to be over.. Last night was the firt night he only woke up once, but just when I thought I was going to get some sleep, Crysta crawled into bed with me. She got in trouble earlier in the day, and usually when that happens, she wants to sleep with me the night after. So I let her for a while, until I wanted to roll over, and had to put her in her own bed. I enjoy the cuddle time with her, but I also cherish my sleep at night time. I desperatly need my sleep!
A few more updates, we are looking at some preschools for Crysta to attend this fall. There aren't many choices, but I think we are just going to have to be on a waiting list, and just enroll her somewhere, and pray we get into the places we want.. Im trying to prepare myself for preschool, I will most likley be that blubbering mom outside the door, waving good-bye for 20 minuets long after she has forgotten about me. ut pre-school is only part time, kindergarden is whats going to kill me. She will start kindergarden when it switches to all day. Im just not sure how I feel about that. I guess we will see when the time comes, but I know it has to happen, I just never thought I would be going through this process so soon. It makes me cherish my time with her that much more.
Terrance and I bought me a new softball mit yesterday. Since we are starting a co-ed team for the summer, we thought I'd better get a glove. Ans dince it was nice yesterday he took me to the park and helped me practice. It was fun just getting out and playing around with the family. Crysta has her own mit too, so we all played, but Carter just slept in the car! Playing though made me realize how rusty I am, and what hard work it is. I was wore out! But I love it! I can't wait to play!!
I will just leave you with a few pictures! Have a great hump day!
Check out Carter's Post Bath hair!! its on the verge of a mowhawk!

The true personality of my kiddos. I love Carters face!

What Love Means.

Leslie had forwarded an email to me that as just too cute. We forget the children see things in such a diffrent light. Sometimes we need to have the mindset of a child. Instead of saying, "you can show me you love me, by buying me all these things", we should count all the little things.. Here is what some childrens answers were to " What does Love Mean?"

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.
So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."

Rebecca- age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."

Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."

Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."

Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."

Terri - age 4

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."

Danny - age 7

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.
My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss"

Emily - age 8

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."

Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,"

Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."

Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."

Tommy - age 6

"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.

He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."

Cindy - age 8

"My mommy loves me more than anybody
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."

Clare - age 6

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."

Elaine-age 5

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."

Chris - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."

Mary Ann - age 4

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."

Lauren - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image)

Karen - age 7

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."

Mark - age 6

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."

Jessica - age 8

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.

The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,

"Nothing, I just helped him cry"

Here is Crystas answer.. " Love means I LOVE YOU!"
